SCAPA

SCAPA is the multidisciplinary Manchester based creative making waves as a DJ, Producer and Immersive Audio Artist. With her love for video game composition holding a heavy presence throughout her tracks, SCAPA fuses synth focused sound design elements and electronic glitches to create her signature sonic experience. Having been immensely influenced by Manchester’s scene, her early releases were part of two of the city’s underground music fundraisers in 2020, and she gained further recognition with her contribution to SHERELLE’s critically acclaimed BEAUTIFUL VOL. 1 LP (2021). With production spanning from the eclectic project The Game Pack to credits on Samrai’s debut album Work & Roti, SCAPA has consistently proved her versatility as an artist.

Outside of performance, SCAPA teaches production workshops to womxn and non-binary creatives, in efforts to address the extreme gender imbalance in music.

Since beginning DJing in 2020, SCAPA’s career has sky rocketed, with highlights include being hand picked to play for the likes of Amaarae, Joy Orbison and Mall Grab, DJing standout sets for Factory International, The Tate Liverpool, Manchester Pride and frequently appearing on NTS.

PRODUCER

Quietly producing from her bedroom since the age of 16, and drawing inspiration from artists like AFRODEUTSCHE, FKA twigs and Grimes, this player features a selection of SCAPA’s latest releases and collaborations, tracing her electronic production and evolving Afro-Electro sound.

IMMERSIVE AUDIO

Working with Ableton Live and L-ISA to trigger and manipulate the position of sound, SCAPA transforms the live experience and placing audiences directly inside it. Presented using Echo Chamber Audio’s 7.1.4 spatial setup (that’s surround, sub and height for full immersion) each performance provides a different experience depending on where the listener sits or stands. One described the experience as “being inside a dream“.
